Sticking points remain between Lib Dems and Tories on tax education andvoting reform

A statement from the Liberal Democrats reveals the party is still seekingclarification on fairer taxes, voting reform and education.

The news came in a statement from David Laws, an MP who is part of the LibDem team talking to the Conservative party.

The two parties met for three hours today but it also emerged that the LibDem negotiating team has also been speaking to Labour party representatives.

Commentators have expressed "surprise" that the Lib Dems and the Tories hadnot apparently made as much progress in their talks as many believed.
