Default Six Sigma link with CMMI

Six Sigma is a data-driven approach, based on statistical measurements of variation from a standard or a norm and the use of quantitative data for processes.

The CMMI process is based on the principle that the quality of a system depends to a great extent on the quality of the processes used to procure, develop and maintain it. Five maturity levels for the processes used by organisations are defined.
Level 1 - Performed process
Level 2 - Managed process
Level 3 - Defined process
Level 4 - Quantitatively managed process. Processes at this level are controlled using staristical and other quantitative techniques. Quantitative data is collected to measure the process and product quality. Six Sigma could be used here.
Level 5 - Optimising process

Check out article in Student Accountant Sep 08 by Adrian Thomas on Business Process Change which gives some more insight.

Default relationship between cmmi and six sigma

Hai guys below is the relationship of cmmi and six sigma

remember that cmmi help organisations understand thier current level of capability in order for them to plan to get to where they want to be. but the question that come is how? and for sure cmmi fails to this question.

however it is from this point that six sigma pick it up, by providing an improvement through the use of its five stage pattern as follows:
1 Define................
2 Measure..............
3 Analyse..............
4 Improve................
5 Control...............

Key:
.................. that this you know guys

Chao and all the best in your exams
