Somebody please help, I am taking P2 paper but i can't catch up with:

01-Jan 10, I do a forward exchange contract with Mr. A with 1,000 GBP (pound) for 1,540 USD (sale pound and purchase dollar) to be exchanged on 31-Jan 10.

So, what should i record this transaction on 01 Jan 10?
