KPMG HAS RECRUITED former Ernst & Young partner Dan Roman as tax partner in its hedge funds division.

He worked in Ernst & Young's hedge fund practice, where he advised private equity business on UK and cross-border tax matters.

Roman qualified as a tax barrister and has also worked for several investment banking companies.

Tom Brown, vice chair of KPMG's global investment management practice, said: "As the industry continues to evolve and is presented with new challenges, Dan's experience and tax expertise will be of enormous help to our clients."

KPMG's global hedge funds practice consists of more than 200 people across 15 countries.

Roman said: "Tax remains an important issue for the industry and I look forward to working closely with our clients to help them navigate their way through the continuously evolving tax landscape."
