KPMG hopes to recruit 8,000 people across Europe including 3,000 in the UKalone

KPMG hopes to hire 8,000 staff across its European operations in the nextthree years, including 3,000 in the UK.

The recruitment drive will increase KPMG's workforce to circa 38,000 inEurope and about 14,000 in the UK, theFinancialTimes reports.

KPMG is not the only Big Four firm to set its sights on increasing itsnumbers. Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu recently announced that it intends to hiremore than 55,000 staff globally over the next five years.

John Griffith-Jones, joint senior partner of KPMG Europe, said: ?It?s been acouple of difficult years but we see lots of opportunities opening up again.?

According to a survey by Universum, a Stockholm based research company, KPMGranked second in an index of the world's most appealing employers. It wasclosely followed by Ernst & Young, PwC and Deloitte ranked third to fifth.Google ranked first.
