Last auditor to sign off Connaught accounts retired at end of June


The PwC audit partner that signed off the last set of accounts forin-administration social housing group Connaught left the firm over the summer,it has emerged.

Stephen Harrison departed from PwC, where he had worked in the Bristoloffice, on 30 June as part of ?normal planned retirement? aged 57.

Administrators from KPMG were appointed to Connaught on 8 September after areview found that the business had serious cash problems, but the Times reportsthat the accounts of the company had been the subject of debate in the City forsome time.

The first batch of redundancies from Connaught are expected to be announcedtoday.
