HLB International brings Menzies into its fold - with other UK firms planned

Menzieshas taken over from Vantis asHLBInternational's UK member firm, but it could soon be joined byother UK practices.

HLB is planning for the south-east based firm to be the first of a number ofUK practices to join its new-style "federation".

The network is looking to set up national federations, where regional memberswill support each others growth and share best practice.

"We are looking for high-quality regional firms to fill our UK network gaps,and the candidates we are talking to demonstrate strong local reputations, anestablished track record, growth plans and a strong international focus,?explains James Frost, chief operating officer of HLB International.

Mike Sands, senior partner at Menzies, said: "We?ve been handling anincreasing amount of international business and have been looking to furtherdevelop this side of its business. Given our growth plans, we believe thatmembership of HLB International presents a significant opportunity to furtherextend the international work that we do, particularly in relation to advisingclients on cross-jurisdictional matters such as transfer pricing andinternational tax."
