Accountant hails breakthrough for women in the Middle East


A Deloitte auditor has marked a milestone for sexual equality in the MiddleEast by becoming the first Saudi woman to gain a licence to practice as acertified public accountant in the Kingdom.

Kholoud Adnan Mousa told news websitezawya.com:"This is not only a great personal achievement for Kholoud and for her familybut also for women in Saudi Arabia."

She added: "I am very pleased with the licence I received which should nowopen the door for more Saudi woman to pursue career opportunities in the fieldof accounting and auditing."

Mousa works for Deloitte's Saudi member Bakr Abulkhair & Co which hasoffices in Riyadh, Jeddah and Khobar.
