Accountng body seeks to provide clarity on internal audit role


An accounting industry body has released a draft statement of principlesaimed at raising the profile of internal auditors in public institutions.

The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) todayreleased a draft statement which aimes to provide clarity around the role ofinternal audit.

Steve Freer, CIPFA Chief Executive said:

?The challenge for leaders and decision makers is not only to make cuts butalso to design and deliver a new, well managed organisation which retains thecapacity and capability to provide great services, albeit from a reducedresource base.?
