Default ACCA in Canada (Toronto)?

I have applied for immigration to Canada & its on the final stage. I am planning to do ACCA in STOUFVILLE COLLEGE, Toronto. I want to know how the college is i.e if anyone has studied there or knows things about the college. I have searched online & have seen that its a bogus college like the contact numbers it has are actually non operational and that it is not registered as per the Ministry there. Is this all true or the college is decent enough? Are there any other colleges/universities in Toronto which provide ACCA tuition programs? Also, I have heard that those who present their Immigrant Card to colleges there have to pay 25% of the tution fees. Is this true or do I have the wrong information? Any help regarding this will be truly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hi...ACCA course is from Uk....so it doesnt matter if stouffville is great or not..u just have to study ACCA n finish. I think they are understaffed so they dont attend calls easily.I have tried couple of times and managed to get someone once. If u have any enquiries about admissions contact sarah@stouffvillecollege.ca or lharper@stouffvillecollege.ca. I have emailed them and got replies too about admission process etc. College is not bogus. ..Contact other students from stouffville college on the stouffville college fan page on facebook. Hope somebody there will give u 1st hand info. PM me if u need any other info...ill share what i know...hope this helps u

Ok here is an email I got from ACCA when I inquired about stouffville.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your recent email.

I can certainly confirm that Stouffville College appears on the list of tuition providers who are subscribed to ACCA's Tuition Provider Directory, but are not
formally approved or endorsed by ACCA.

Therefore, ACCA cannot guarantee the quality of tuition provided by these institutions.

If you have any further queries in relation to this correspondence, then please do not hesitate in contacting me by return of email.

Regards

I need to check whether Stouffville College in toronto canada is an
approved acca tuition provider. Their name is mentioned on ACCA global
website but their website is kind of fishy.

Well its a risk ur taking by joining them then as its not officially endorsed by ACCA....besides the job prospects dont look bright in canada as ACCA doesnt hold so much value in canada or US...But its well recognised worldwide ...try UK or Australia or even Dubai...the feedback i have received from students who have done acca in canada is not good...

Has anyone heard about the new London School of Business and Finance campus in Toronto?

This is very exciting news, because LSBF is a Gold Approved Learning Provider in London.

I am planning on calling the school on Monday and will share more information when I receive it!!

Alright, I have more information-- figured I'd share it with you all!!

I first called Stoufville College, seeing how they have been in Canada and Toronto longer. I did not get a very good feeling from them. The individual on the phone was not very helpful and was not forthcoming in giving me pertinent information about the course. They were very distrustful to be honest, questioning me about why I wanted to know so much information (leaving your home country to go somewhere new is a big ordeal and should not be taken lightly!!! How they could not realise this, I do not know)

I did some more searching online about the school because I felt uneasy, and I found some documents that reinforced my concern:

http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/general...eOrder2010.pdf

http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/general...%20-%20AMP.pdf

Fortunately, my phone call with London School of Business and Finance went a lot better. I spoke to a nice person from their toronto office who is now my student advisor. They make me feel very good about the decision to study in Toronto and are providing guidance to make the process as easy as possible.

The school offers a full scholarship towards their online MBA which is really incredible. I am excited to be taking this opportunity and will be enroling shortly.

The school's website is: LSBF - ACCA

if there are any other students who are planning on studying in Toronto in 2011, it would be great if you could reply so that we could introduce ourselves to one another!
