Default Hope it answers your query

Audit software is used by the auditor to obtain evidence needed for substantive procedure as well as test of control.

It is used either for
1. Sample selection - TOC & SP
2. Recalculation - SP
3. Processing of client data and comparing the results with clients system - SP

Example:

The auditor may decide to use the clients master file for AR with his software to select samples for confirmation letter to be sent.
For more information search for auditorium f8 in google

CAATs came out in Dec 2008, and never again.
So it's a good chance i think that it might surface for this sitting.
Keep ur fingers crossed!

Can be a good topic to score...i hope!
