how I know if the yied variance is adverse or Favourable ??

Hello, this will depend on which variance u r calculating.
in some variance calculculation, if the standard is higher than actual then its favourable e.g material usage on the other hand for some if the standard is higher than actual then its unfavourable e.g sales price
