Can anybody help here please - I can't figure out how to enter the negative exponential function in my calculator for the average growth rate formula ie 4 to the power of -0.415?

do your calculator have this sign ^ ?
you just press 4^-0.4

4 to the power of -0.415 may be typed in ur calculator as

4^-.0415 .... just look for and type the sign of ^ and then the rest of the figures as usual... u r done.
