can someone plz help me with this question

first off i'm not sure if this is the right forum for it, but never the less here's the question
in the month of March a business made sales on credit of 15790 plus VAT and purchases on credit of 12455 inclusive of VAT. Also during the month 13612 was received form debtors in cash and cheque payment of 9400 was made to creditors. VAT is at the rate of 17.5%. write up these transactions by completing the necessary ledger accounts.
plz explain how i need to calculated these VAT things and where they should be posted.
