ACCA Exam Revision Tips
|
|
Use the right material for revision.
Make sure you are using the most up-to-date revision materials relevant to the June 2011 exams, especially in tax, law, accounting and audit. Materials from ACCA-approved providers are recommended.
Construct a revision plan
Even with a few days to go, plan how you will ensure you have revised the syllabus content in all core areas, as well as practising enough questions in each area.
Attempt a full mock exam
The final exam should not be your first experience of the paper. Make sure you sit at least one complete paper, under exam conditions and time pressure, before the final exam and learn from that experience. Do not worry what mark you might have been awarded – it is the discipline and experience of sitting there for three hours, working through not one question but a whole set of questions drawn from across the syllabus that counts.
Use resources on the ACCA website
Make full use of the (free) resources on the ACCA website, including studying the relevant examinable verbs in the study guides; working through (and not just casually reading) the relevant technical articles; drawing lessons from examiners’ reports and mistakes made by students in the past few sittings.
Be disciplined
Follow your revision plan and do not panic. At this stage, try to consolidate what you have learnt so far and how you can apply that knowledge in the exam to maximise marks. Just reading more, without application, may not be the best use of the remaining time.
