Default How to Transfer from CAT to ACCA

Once you have completed all of the Certified Accounting Technician exams, you will automatically be transferred onto the ACCA Qualification and be awarded exemptions from the Part 1 papers 1.1–1.3 of the current syllabus (examined up until June 2007) or Papers F1–F3 on the new syllabus (examined from December 2007), unless you indicated on your registration form that you did not wish this transfer to be effected. Please note this is irrespective of whether you have at that time fulfilled the practical experience requirement. On transferring, you will not be charged an additional registration fee, nor will you be charged for the exemptions awarded from Papers 1.1–1.3 or F1–F3.

Part Qualified AAT Students
If you have completed some, but not all of the AAT exams and wish to transfer to the Certified Accounting Technician register, you can do so. Exemptions will be awarded on a subject for subject basis, according to how far you have progressed with the AAT qualification.

You will be required to pay the current CAT registration fee plus the exemption fees for any papers awarded at CAT Advanced Level.

ACCA Professional Scheme
If you are currently studying for the ACCA professional qualification, you have the opportunity to gain the Certified Accounting Technician qualification at a specially discounted rate.

If you have completed, or been exempted from ACCA Professional Scheme Part 1, plus two other papers from 2.3, 2.4 or 2.6 (on the current Professional Scheme) or you are eligible for Direct Entry to CAT (provided you have at least 1 years' relevant experience).
