Default Q on Appeal

Hello people,

First of please accept my appologies if I post this thread in the wrong section of the forum as it is my first try :-)

Now to the Question. In Dec-08 I took F8 among other papers. It was the paper I was 101% confident about. I nearly eaten the whole textbook to get better understanding, answered all Qs (even had 15 mins left to check my answers), followed all the guidelines about verbs, bullets, borders, corrections, 1.8mins, sticking-to-the-point. And got 48.

I applied for admin review the same day as I got my mark as I was devastated with F8 result. Anything else but not this paper. But now I am even more frustrated as I read the comments. I thought paying another 45GBP would make someone sit and read my answers carefully without second thoughts about another dozens of papers to mark for 5GBP each but apparently I paid for 'checking some procedures and summarizing points to 48' as most people say 'forget it and don't spit against the wind'.

I feel that I will go for appeal too. Has anyone tried it already? Do you have to pay for it again?

Thanks.

Hi abezverkhiy,

I can feel the pain when one fails by one number. I would suggest you to make summaries for the answers of the December 2008 F8 paper and compare it with the Examiner answers. Just to check that you were giving really giving the answer to the question asked instead of the one you hoped you were asked.

I think think is is the main cause of failure of students who have completed 100% paper.

But if you answers and examinar answers are on the same track than i would say that you may go ahead . But please remember that finishing before the 3 hours is also comes under the category of time mismanagment cause if you have allocated the time rightly you should be left with none at the end of the paper.

For Information regarding Administrative review check this post
http://www.accahelp.com/acca-exam-re...procedure.html (ACCA Administrative Review Procedure)

and i would like to mention that ACCA is now giving this added service from this attempt for the same amount of money.

Quote:
As part of this service you will receive information on whether or not you reached the pass standard in each question attempted. This will take the form of P (Pass) or F (Fail) - actual marks will not be disclosed. This change to the service is in response to requests from students and tuition providers. It will provide an indication as to where a good understanding of a topic area has been demonstrated, and should assist with revision in cases where students have failed an examination. No additional fee is being charged.
hope all this info proves helpful in making the decision.
